The X-Series, 1994.

The most simple of geometric forms, two lines intersecting, the X.

Semantically, x is a warding sign, as well; a motion of the fingers to keep evil at bay. Over a number of summer evenings at dusk, I worked with the plaster in the ceilings of the meat market (Sûq al-Lahâmeen) of Old Jerusalem.
